Styled Shoot: Roller Disco
My husband Justin is a "camera guy." That has meant a variety of things across the span of his career: 2nd AC, cinematographer, A cam operator, film loader, Houston rap video director, etc. Since we got together, that has largely meant “my husband shoots television shows.”
But sometimes, just for fun, we collaborate. We combine my love of fashion and his love of cameras and do styled shoots.
The inspiration for this one came from a lot of things. The style was inspired by the rollerskating culture of the late 70s and early 80s. This particular outfit (and hair) was largely inspired by Brooke Shields. The location is a neighborhood park that was a huge part of our 80s upbringing; some of my favorite childhood memories are at this park. And if seven-year-old Jennifer could see these skates, she would be incredibly jealous. But 43-year-old Jennifer was just thrilled she didn’t fall and break her tailbone.
